But the contemporary author I admire most is Tiffany Reisz. Scott Fitzgerald, Oscar Wilde, Ray Bradbury, and Anne Rice shaped my reading preferences when I was young. I wanted desperately to create a character that held on strong to her beliefs and didn’t crumble in the face of the prospect of love. I also felt an intense need to give readers, especially women, a strong heroine. I’ve always been a huge fan of dystopian plots, and I just had to get this story out of my head and on to paper. I saw an open call for submissions at a romance e-publisher for Scifi Romance and it sparked my imagination. ![]()
